The L'Oreal Colour Trophy is one of our favourite nights in the hairdressing calendar - not only is there amazing talent on show, it's also the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends. And this year the final show was by Adam Reed, Ken Picton and Brooks & Brooks - and it was truly breathtaking!
Art directed by Sally and Jamie Brooks, the Brooks & Brooks artistic team created minimal, contemporary and beautiful looks for their 21st Century Editorial Image show. Using muslin, felt and hair as a fabric, the team played with pretty pastels, delicate textures and whimsical shapes. The four-minute show took the concept of editorial direct to the stage as flashlights and cameramen captured the looks as they walked the stage to a backdrop of stunning images created by the team especially for the show.
The night was also about the finalists in regional categories who battled it out during the day to recreate their winning look. Colour director at Brooks & Brooks Issie Churcher and Junior Green both took part in the judging, describing it as "incredibly difficult." In fact there were reports of arguments amongst the judges when the top three places were being decided!
A vibrant copper created by Mai Ha from Trevor Sorbie, Manchester clinched the top prize - here' a list of the winners from the night!
