Is Meghan Markle ready for Princess-worthy hair?

All eyes will be on Meghan Markle this weekend as she marries the country’s most eligible bachelor, Prince Harry. And after much speculation on how she will wear her hair – rumoured to be styled by London hairdresser Miguel Perez – there will be much debating on whether her hair suited her, was on trend or old fashioned, whether she looked regal or rogue. We asked a few of our clients for their bridal thoughts ahead of the big day.

“Like all brides Meghan has reportedly been dieting before her wedding. However, it’s important brides don’t crash diet as this can have an effect on their hair. Diet, hormones and stress is never a good combination and can all make hair fragile and weaker,” explains Mikaela Martin from Spirit Hair Company.

Afro specialist Junior Green adds: “It will be interesting to see what style Meghan opts for, as we are seeing bridges looking for less structured styles – softer, looser, more undone styles. In terms of techniques we are creating distressed braids and using wefts to create soft beach waves. It is really all about embracing natural texture.”

Kayleigh Twigg from Brooks & Brooks looks after lots of brides leading up to their big day. “Don’t forget most photographs on the day are taken from the front, but details in the hair may be at the back, so make sure the face doesn’t look too severe – create a little height on top and pull some tendrils out to frame the face.”
